You may have recently heard of or seen the new All in One access website, the Community Nutshell. The website, recently featured in the "Money Honey" column in the Nelson Weekly Express, is fashioned in a franchise style which has a standard familiar menu for every Community. If you have ever been to any franchise in a strange town you may have found comfort from that familiarity. Our goal at the Community Nutshell has been to create a directory menu and search engine that will work the same in every community, so once you are familiar with using the site you will be able to explore and interact with communities within your region as well as all over the world as they are developed. The Irony is we are using a corporate marketing technique to bring focus back to the community and the individuality in business.

You may find what you're looking for by simply typing in a keyword in the search bar such as 'sushi' or 'organics', 'electric bill', 'pizza' etc. then clicking the 'search now' and see what comes up! You will only find results listed directly in the community or communities you have selected to search. As more businesses add their information the power of the site will intensify. Each home page has a scrolling list of the day's events in that community from daily specials to Live performances and much more.

There is absolutely NO CHARGE to join this site and you will receive no spam email or be placed on any list. Since it is required that you be registered in order to post to the site, you have been given the option in your profile to be public or remain private on the site. As well you may choose to use the site indefinitely as a guest and that's fine! When tourists arrive in an unfamiliar place needing to find whatever they need, they will have no problem doing so. Registration is merely to offer customizability and interactivity. There are forums, local and global as well as local Galleries and an onsite messaging (LetterBox) and Chat (ChatterBox) system. We will soon be investing in a more powerful chat server so stay tuned for that.

The initial Community to be developed has been Nelson BC. It is the birthplace of the site and much of the inspiration. To get acquainted with the functionality of the site you should check that community out. Please have FUN !

If you own a business, it is completely FREE to add your basic listing. To add your business to our directory by choosing My Biz and then select add a basic business. Bring many more eyes to your current website or get your initial web presence. You may add all your contact information as well as a little about your company, store front or home-based.
