Our goal at the Community Nutshell is to provide a familiar community website that functions in a predictable manner regardless of the community you search in or interact with. There are community sites in most communities hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce and / or the City as well as any local commercial directories and each one has its own style of navigation.

Now you may browse your own community or visit others from around the world using the same tools and menus. Once you have familiarized your self with how to navigate and interact with one community, you may now travel the world as the communities fill up. As user friendliness is very important to us, please submit any suggestions you may have to help with development and the quality of your visits.

GUESTS & REGISTERED MEMBER BENEFITS:

Guest may use all the functionality of the search engines in any given community. Search the Full Directory for specific categories or the "Directory in a Nutshell" for general categories. Also available is the A to Z listing in any category, the Events calendar as well as viewing of the Forums and the classifieds along with access to our onsite chat server the ChatterBox. ( Will be logged in as guest, java (tm) is required )

Registered Members have full access to the Community Nutshell visitor's options as well as the Basic Listing in the Business options if so desired.

Members may:

a) Personalize their Nutshell Profile to set which page of the site they want displayed when they log on.

b) Post FREE classifieds with image upload

c) set search areas of your choice from a list of communities.

d) Members also have their own LetterBox account. This is an onsite message service. You may send messages to other site members of any community which they will receive upon next log on and vice versa. Members may send a message to the poster of any classified ads as well as receive them from viewers of your posted ads.

e) You may manage your profile directory which will let you organize friends and businesses and the ability to bookmark your favourite forum threads (conversations)

f) Log into the ChatterBox with your member profile

g) Cast your vote in the BallotBox. This is an onsite voting system for local issues as well as site contests and entertaining fun polls. This is a multi tier system that will have global, national, regional and local polls. You may submit suggestions for the BallotBox . “Democracy in a Nutshell ! “

We promote web presence by offering a free basic listing for everyone in business (no hidden fees, includes all available contact info i.e. links & or email) as well as a Premium listing to improve the quality of local online browsing. Google can only find results from those who have established web presence. We hope to bridge the gap between all those businesses in communities without web representation and Google and ultimately the people.

If a business, group or organization exists in your community then there should be no barriers to that business being found online. Any businesses currently with web presence will benefit from more eyes brought to their site. We will offer tech support to any business that may be unfamiliar with using the computer or the web as well as any other reason.
